Open Date: 10/02/09 Close Date: Department: Surgery(OR) Position: Surgery Aide Duty Hours: Part Time plus on-call Requirements: High School education or GED equivalent. CPR preferred. Knowledge and background in surgical procedures, instruments,equipment, supplies, infection control, AORN standards. Ability to work under pressure and able to adapt to different situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of hospital environment or experience in surgical setting encouraged. On-call required. Position Responsibilities: Performs surgical shave preps in accordance with Policy/Procedure. Transports patients in a safe and timely manner. Provides comfort measures for patients; proper contact and introduction. Assists and anticipates needs of team members. Accurate handling of specimens, maintains a sterile environment. Maintains linen supply for daily use, decontaminates and/or returns instrument, supplies, and equipment. Disposes of sharps according to P/P.
