ICU
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 12 bed unit with focus of care being medical and surgical patients requiring constant hemodynamic monitoring. ICU has 2 private rooms, and a ten bed open area format. Each bed may
be viewed from the nurses station, with antennae monitoring of the 2 private rooms. ICU and CCU have the capabilities of the identical invasive and non-invasive monitoring.
CCU
The Critical Care Unit (CCU) is a 6 bed unit with the capability in each room for Swan-Ganz, A-Line, ECG, NIBP, CO and O 2 -Saturation monitoring The focus of care in CCU is rule out MI, Cardiac /Respiratory Arrests, CHF, Pulmonary Edema, and Chest Pain. CCU 's primary focus is on any cardiac disease process requiring constant monitoring of hemodynamics.
PCU
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an 8 bed unit referred to as the step-down unit. PCU is designed with all private rooms. Each room is equipped with telemetry or hardwire ECG, pulse oximetry, and NIBP. Telemetry units are placed on patients that require monitoring while ambulatory, and hardwire ECG is placed on most bedridden patients. PCU accepts patients from in-house areas that require monitoring but not invasive lines, and also direct admissions that necessitate the need for telemetry monitoring. Respiratory Therapy is located inside the PCU nurses' station. The RT department oversees oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and therapuetic procedures hospital wide.
Medical Floor
On the 5th floor of the Medical Tower is a 29 bed medical unit that provides comprehensive nursing care patients with medical conditions. This floor has a concentration in Oncology and Respiratory patients. It has the capacity to provide telemetry, continous oxygen saturation monitoring and chemotherapy to our patients. It was recently renovated to provide more private rooms and a more up-to-date atmosphere for our medical patients.
Surgical Floor
On the 8th floor of the Medical Tower is a 22 bed surgical unit that provides comprehensive nursing care to patients who will undergo or who have undergone surgical procedures. This floor provides telemetry and continuous oxygen saturation monitoring.
On the 7th floor of the Medical Tower is a 10-20 bed overflow unit for both medical and surgical patients. This floor offers telemetry and continous oxygen saturation monitoring.
