| LEARNING OBJECTIVES | Upon completion , participants will be able to:
1. Discuss basic epidemiological information about HIV and the diseases and conditions HIV can cause.
2. Identify methods of transmission and prevention of HIV and current recognized methods of medical treatment.
3. Explain the management of HIV in the healthcare workplace and other environments.
4. Discuss legal issues applicable to HIV infected persons.
5. Clarify appropriate attitudes and behaviors toward persons infected with HIV.
6. List comprehensive human services available to assist persons with HIV infection. |

The 2 hours of mandatory HIV continuing education can be earned once every 10 years. The LPN earning period is from 11/1/2001-10/31/2011. The RN earning period is 11/1/2002-10/31/2012. LPN earning period from 11/1/2011-10/31/2021.
