Patients appear in, on Jennie Stuart ads
September 6, 2012
HOPKINSVILLE—A businessman from Princeton, Joe McEnaney, is the first patient to appear in an advertising campaign by Jennie Stuart Medical Center (JSMC) called, “By Jennie Stuart.”
McEnaney, a recovered throat cancer patient, granted the hospital permission to share his survival story in a series of ads running in area newspapers, and on radio stations and cable television. After initial diagnosis at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, he chose to have his treatment at the E.C. Green Cancer Center at JSMC. Eighteen weeks of chemotherapy and 35 radiation treatments later, McEnaney says he was cancer free.
“I just thank the good Lord above, quite frankly, that He was involved in steering me this way. I thank not only my community, my family, but the family at Jennie Stuart as the reason I am here today,” McEnaney says.
JSMC is planning future ads featuring Dora Clardy, a recent knee-replacement patient from Hopkinsville; Debbie Roberts, a weight-loss surgery patient, also from Hopkinsville; and another cancer patient from Princeton, Rev. Jerry Gray.
Cancer, orthopedic surgery, and weight-loss surgery are the three key services JSMC is promoting in the ad campaign. In July, the hospital began its first ad campaign in several years called, “I am Jennie Stuart.” It features clinicians from the hospital and focuses on oncology, joint replacement and bariatric surgery as well. Both campaigns are scheduled to continue through 2013. Last month, the hospital also began placing a series of online ads in addition to the traditional advertisements.
This year, the hospital launched, expanded or enhanced several services—
including a new Wound Healing Center—and developed a new marketing effort to support and promote the services.
JSMC is a private, not-for-profit health organization that includes an acute-care medical center; free-standing outpatient surgery, medical imaging, laboratory, and rehabilitation services; and an integrated physician network. For information, call (800) 887-JSMC (800-887-5762). |
