|  |  The Same Day Surgery Unit was recently relocated to a remodeled area on the 1st floor of the hospital next to Surgery. The S.D.S. unit is designed for our patients to enter the hospital, undergo a surgical or diagnostic procedure, and receive excellent post operative nursing care in anticipation of being discharged home the same day.
The nursing staff of S.D.S. provides a warm, caring environment for the patient and their family. Along with excellent care, this staff provides patient education and support.
Pre-Admission Testing[
The Pre-Admission Testing (P.A.T.) Department, formerly known as the Surgical Nurse Liaison, relocated to the 1st floor of the hospital with Same Day Surgery and Endoscopy. P.A.T. is responsible for meeting with patients who are scheduled for procedures such as surgery, arteriograms, and cardiac catheterization to help them prepare for the procedure. Many of these procedures require laboratory and other testing prior to admission.
At their P.A.T. appointment, the patients will pre-register for their procedure, complete their test and meet with a nurse to provide a brief medical history, discuss any pre-procedure instructions and verify the date and time of arrival for their procedure.
A patient may schedule his/her own P.A.T. appointment by calling (270) 887-0128. If voice mail answers, please leave your name, phone number and a brief description of your scheduled procedure. A nurse will return your call during our usual business hours of Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. | |
